I hand-painted this using large brush strokes. The subtle play of lights and shadows on the petals in varied white, grey, and pale purple hues was imperative to create the impression of the subtleties of the soft blossoms. I layered blue, red and white to create that look of the serene background..
This artwork has a lot of paint on it, with many layers to create interesting textures. This piece was hand-made on gesso-primed, stretched canvas, in professional, light-fast, acrylic paint, and varnished.
